Republican subbotnik in full swing in Belarus
Today, a republican voluntary working day is taking place countrywide, with Belarusians working to landscape and restore settlements, memorial complexes, and places of military glory. The accumulated funds will be allocated to modernisation of the Khatyn Memorial Complex.
Deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly have worked fruitfully to contribute to the improvement of the Peoples' Friendship Park near the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Recovery of the Dead. They planted a lime alley, also laying flowers at the memorial to honour those who died as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear tragedy.
The Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Karanik, has taken part in the landscaping of a former death camp site in the Folyush residential district. He was joined by boys and girls from a patriotic club, schoolchildren, representatives of public organisations and the region leadership.
Employees of the Construction and Architecture Ministry, headed by Minister Ruslan Parkhomovich, have been working on the territory of the Zhilin-Brodsky forestry – painting pine trees on the territory of 1.6 hectares, while also being engaged in landscaping.
In turn, employees of the Prosecutor General's Office planted a tui alley near the Prosecutor's Office building in Minsk.
The Hero's Tree campaign has been organised in the Vitebsk Region today. Its participants have planted about 2,000 trees and shrubs – to decorate the region’s memorable places.
More than 200 residents of Polotsk – led by District Head Igor Markovich – have been landscaping the territory of a park near the Mound of Immortality, the Upper Castle and the embankment of the Zapadnaya Dvina River.
