Rachkov: our President has always demonstrated determination in defending interests of Belarusian people
Sergei Rachkov, the Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, drew attention to this when discussing Aleksandr Lukashenko’s speech at a solemn meeting dedicated to Belarus’ Independence Day, as he talked with ONT TV channel
Speaking about the statements addressed by the Head of State to the West, Rachkov underlined, “This is a serious, already the 999th warning, a concrete signal to the West about the determination of the Head of State and our country to defend our sovereignty and security.”
He added, “The President at all difficult stages of the formation and development of our state has always demonstrated his determination in defending the interests of the Belarusian people. It was in the 1990s, in 2005 and 2010, not to mention 2020. This is no longer about diplomacy, but about preparing for a possible repulse of the attack that our opponents may be preparing.”
According to Mr. Rachkov, there is less and less diplomacy in the modern world.
“Statements, assertions and declarations of the West do not fit into the plane of diplomacy and interstate communication, but we must ensure our security and guarantee it,” he concluded.
