The Russian leader is on a two-day official visit in Belarus. He arrived in the Belarusian capital last night, and the Belarusian leader welcomed him at the airport. In the presence of the media, the presidents outlined the negotiating agenda, stating their intention to primarily discuss security issues, including the topic of exercises on the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons. Official negotiations with the participation of members of the delegations will be mainly devoted to issues of trade and economic co-operation.
It is noteworthy that, just before his visit to Belarus, Vladimir Putin, discussed in detail the issues of co-operation with Belarus in various areas at a meeting with members of the Russian government, "We touched upon almost all areas [in our conversation] – including industrial co-operation, energy, agriculture, and security issues. There were probably a half of all government members present,” he said upon arrival in Minsk.
