Putin: festival serves noble goals of spiritual unity of fraternal Slavic peoples
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has addressed a welcome telegram to the participants and guests of the 33rd International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, and its text was read out at the opening ceremony by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk
“Over the past years, the Vitebsk festival – held under the motto of Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding – has gained a well-deserved international reputation,” Vladimir Putin said in his greeting. “It creates a good opportunity for composers, singers, poets, painters and artistes of various genres to demonstrate their talent and skill, to communicate with colleagues and friends, to share experiences and creative plans. The Slavianski Bazaar programme is traditionally very rich and diverse. I would like to note that, this time, the events dedicated to two significant anniversaries — the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders and the 25th anniversary of the Union State Treaty – occupy a special place. I would like to thank everyone who have contributed to the organisation of the festival. I am sure that it will serve the noble goals of spiritual unity and mutual enrichment of the cultures of fraternal Slavic peoples, and will also contribute to the development of multilateral humanitarian co-operation.”
Vladimir Putin wished the participants of the Slavianski Bazaar inspiration and success, also wishing bright and unforgettable impressions to its guests.
