Presidents of Belarus and Russia exchanged congratulations on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of two countries

Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, the President of the Republic of Belarus, in his congratulatory message noted that in the face of unprecedented external challenges and threats, Belarusian-Russian relations have adequately passed the test of strength, becoming an example of true partnership based on the principles of mutual trust, respect and sovereign equality – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

“I am sure that the full implementation of the agreements reached will open up new prospects for the Union State building, giving impetus to the progressive development of the economies and helping improve the quality of life for the two states’ citizens,” the congratulatory message says.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Vladimir Putin strong health, prosperity and implementation of large-scale state plans.

In turn, the President of Russia, in his congratulations, noted, “Based on the good traditions of friendship and good neighbourliness that bind Russians and Belarusians, our countries and peoples are systematically expanding mutually beneficial co-operation across all areas. The mechanisms of the Union State are also being vigorously improved. Despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure from outside, we are effectively co-ordinating efforts in the international arena, in defence and security, and successfully implementing programmes aimed at strengthening financial, economic, and sci-tech sovereignty.”

Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that further building up the entire range of the Union State ties fully meets the interests of the fraternal peoples of Belarus and Russia. He wished Aleksandr Lukashenko strong health and success, and all Belarusian citizens happiness and prosperity.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also sent congratulations on the Day of Unity to Chairman of the Union State Council of Ministers, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin, Secretary of State of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
