President’s Aide: Belarus has enough forces and means to ensure national security

The leaders of Poland, the Baltic States and Ukraine do not cease attempts to put a combined pressure on Belarus, so it is necessary for Belarusians to keep their ears open and listen even to what the ex-ministers and former politicians of these countries say – as noted by the President’s Aide for the Grodno Region, Yuri Karayev, at a seminar recently organised by Patriots of Belarus public association   

Mr. Karayev noted that, by expressing a private opinion, Western politicians are preparing an information field and thereby trying to influence the consciousness of their population, of Belarusians and of the world community. They are actually throwing a test balloon in the hope of probing the ground and understanding what will happen next.

“All statements that Warsaw will support our fugitives aim to make those in the West believe that we still have some protestors, fighters against the current government, who are ready to seize something there, starting with a small bridgehead – with support with humane, as they call themselves, Europeans. While abroad, our fugitives concentrate close to the headquarters of a runaway opposition challenger and still imagine themselves as fighters, thinking that their actions can ignite a flame. I want to assure everyone once again that all our special services, army, police, and representatives of the internal affairs bodies are always on the alert. We not only know their scenarios, but also anticipate, develop methods and skills of a quick response to such actions. There are enough forces and means in Belarus to ensure national security,” the President’s Aide stressed.

Mr. Karayev added that the special services and representatives of law enforcement agencies successfully paralyse, stop such attempts to overthrow the legitimate government and destabilise the situation in the country on their initial stage.

“We daily monitor and analyse information about control points and troops that move and are located near our borders, we analyse the situation. The internal affairs bodies, the army, and the special services are on the alert. We are ready to prevent any negative scenario and ensure the safety of our population. The recently liquidated terrorist is an example of a brilliant operation of the special services. I think it has brought many people who want to play terrorists down to earth,” Mr. Karayev noted.
