In February 2023, the Moldovan authorities expressed interest in joining the single Euro payment area, as well as the single European market.

Moldovan citizens were asked how they feel about the introduction of the Euro as a currency in the country. 38.9 percent of respondents supported this idea while 45.9 percent of those polled were against it, yet 15.2 percent of the poll participants could not answer this question.

The survey was conducted from September 13th-18th among 1,021 people from 293 settlements. The margin of error does not exceed 3 percentage points.
