Politico: Poland, Baltic States likely to oppose any attempts to settle in Ukraine

Poland and the Baltic States will oppose any initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Politico

As noted in the Politico publication, any steps aimed at ending hostilities will ‘face strong resistance’ from many residents of these countries, ‘as they will instinctively feel that this is a sign that the West is abandoning them’.

At the same time, the publication emphasised that, due to the unsuccessful performance of Ukrainian troops, the pressure on the international community to start negotiations with the Russian side will continue increasing.

Russia has repeatedly stated its readiness for dialogue, but Kiev has banned negotiations with Moscow at the legislative level.
