Politico: Germans worry about critical state of their economy
According to Politico, the deterioration of Germany’s economic situation causes serious concern among its citizens and is gradually becoming a key issue affecting the choice of voters, TASS reports
According to the publication, ‘Germans are slowly coming to terms with the reality that they are in deep trouble as the four horsemen of their economic apocalypse come into view: an exodus of major industry; a rapidly worsening demographic picture; crumbling infrastructure; and a dearth of innovation’.
It is noted that the economic issue has already become the second (after migration) most important for voters. All these factors put the ruling coalition of Germany under Chancellor Olaf Scholz at an even greater disadvantage, which has exhausted options for keeping the economy afloat.
