Poland moved two military brigades to Belarus’ border

Polish Minister of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak said that the country had deployed two military brigades to the eastern border due to the arrival of Wagner PMC in Belarus, RIA Novosti reports

Mariusz Blaszczak said, “We know that the Wagner group was transferred to Belarus. In this regard, we strengthened the east of Poland via the redeployment of military units together with equipment from the west. This refers to the 12th and 17th brigades. One of them is stationed in Kolno at a new base opened last Saturday, the other one – in Biala Podlaska, i.e., near the border.”

Earlier, it was reported that the Polish Armed Forces are deploying 1,000 soldiers and 200 units of equipment to the border with Belarus. The Polish army explained that the purpose of this ‘training presence of part of the infantry troops’ is to demonstrate the readiness of the Polish Armed Forces ‘to immediately respond to attempts at destabilisation near the border of our country’.
