Pinevich: COVID-19 cases dropped significantly in Belarus
This was stated by Belarus’ Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich in his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel
“The number of new COVID-19 cases has significantly decreased throughout Belarus. This refers to both ARVI and COVID-19. At the end of the epidemic there is always a large number of severe cases, especially among patients over 50 years old, but now there is also an intensive decrease in the number of severe patients and hospitalisations. We hope that the coronavirus will move into a seasonal phase,” said Dmitry Pinevich.
He also added, “We continue to recommend that safety measures and social distancing be followed. Vaccination and revaccination also remain one of the most effective ways to protect against infection.”
In Belarus, more than 5.7 million people have already received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which more than 5.1 million have completed the full course of vaccination.
