Peskov said the world will no longer revolve around US
The Kremlin supports the words of American President Joe Biden that the world needs a new order, but Moscow does not agree that such an order can be built by Washington – press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov told reporters, TASS reports
“We absolutely agree with Mr. Biden. This is a rare case when we absolutely agree with what he said. Indeed, the world needs a new world order based on completely different principles,” he said.
At the same time, according to the Kremlin, the world order should be free from attempts to concentrate all governance mechanisms in the hands of one state, from attempts to impose its will and decisions on other countries. “And vice versa, there must be a world order that is based on international law, and not on the ‘rules’, which is based on mutual respect, mutual benefit, and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs,” Dmitry Peskov listed.
However, the Kremlin disagrees, however, with Biden on the other part of his statement. “Mr. Biden also said that the US is capable of building such an order. We disagree with this part of his statement,” Dmitry Peskov underlined.
Peskov noted that the United States ‘one way or another, no matter what world order it may be talking about, it has a US-centric world order in mind’. “That is a world that revolves around the United States. It won’t be like this anymore,” the Kremlin representative is confident.
