Peskov: Lukashenko, Putin exchange opinions almost daily
The presidents of Belarus and Russia, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, exchange opinions and co-ordinate actions literally every day – as informed by the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, BelTA reports
"Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko is the Head of fraternal and allied Belarus. He is a very competent and wise statesman, who has a serious experience in passing different hardships. President Putin has very good relations with him – not simply allied, but long-standing ones. Therefore, of course, the exchange of views of the presidents, co-ordination of actions and so on is something that happens on a virtually daily basis," the Kremlin representative said.
Russian journalists also asked Mr. Peskov to comment on the words of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko who said today that neither he, nor Russian President Vladimir Putin, nor Yevgeny Prigozhin should be made heroes in the situation around the attempted rebellion in Russia. "I do not think I have the right to comment on Aleksandr Grigorievich’s words. The President [of Russia, Vladimir Putin] just yesterday highly assessed his efforts to resolve that crisis," he noted.
Media representatives were also interested in reports posted on Telegram channels that the PMC Wagner head, Yevgeny Prigozhin, had allegedly already arrived in Belarus. "I do not have any information in this regard, and I cannot tell you anything," Mr. Peskov said.
