Pensions for working pensioners in Belarus to be paid in full
Restrictions on the size of pensions for working pensioners will be lifted in Belarus. This decision has been made after today’s meeting with Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko on the improvement of social support for the population.
During a conversation with journalists, Chairman of Belarus’ Federation of Trade Unions Yuri Senko recalled that back in June this year, after his report, President Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to introduce additional financial incentives for working pensioners. The point is that currently there are restrictions on the payment of pensions for working pensioners whose individual coefficient is higher than 1.3. The task was set to introduce a regulatory act, enabling pensioners to continue working, but on more attractive terms. Today, the Head of State has been presented with a corresponding draft decree.
“The President supported the idea. We are expecting a decree that will completely remove restrictions for working pensioners. That is, if an employer keeps an employee in the workplace, they will receive their honestly earned pension in full, as well as their salary,” Yuri Senko explained.
Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Aleksandr Yegorov stressed that from the point of view of paying taxes and income to the Social Protection Fund from working pensioners, there are enough funds in the budget to remove all restrictions that currently exist on the payment of pensions to working pensioners.
“Therefore, there will be no problems in terms of budget balance,” the official assured.
