Parkhamovich: Belarusian enterprises increased supplies of construction goods to Russia by 70 percent
The share of exports of Belarusian building materials increased by 25 percent – as noted by Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich during his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel
Answering a journalist’s question, the Minister noted that in 2022-2023, the issues of import substitution were quite acute, “We see the work that is being done by our enterprises. The vacated niches due to the lack of foreign suppliers enabled us to orient ourselves and occupy those spaces where imported materials were used, but now they suddenly disappeared.”
According to him, the volume of domestic building materials in the internal market has increased significantly. The Minister underlined that the same niches have opened in the Russian Federation, “That is why the main flows of our deliveries of construction products were directed to this market. Thus, we increased the share of exports of building materials by more than 25 percent. We increased the deliveries to the Russian Federation by 70 percent: cement – by 69 percent, ceramic tiles – by 43 percent, glass – by 57 percent. We can say that about the same trend is observed in our market. This also applies to mineral wool plates which were imported in significant volumes, but today these products are being replaced by Gomelstroymaterialy and Nieman Glassworks. Such trends are everywhere: on ceramic tiles, lime, bricks, etc.”
