Paris Olympics budget to be increased due to global conflicts
In order to ensure the safety of sports delegations, the budget for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris may be increased, TASS reports
According to the Chair of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tony Estanguet, the threat level is regularly updated, so the police and security services are doing everything to guarantee the safety of every participant and spectator of the Olympics.
“The security budget for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is estimated at around €300m, but is likely to be much higher. Security remains a priority at the Olympic Games, and we expect demonstrations and demands,” he said.
Estanguet also expressed concern for the safety of the Israeli delegation, recalling the terrorist attack that occurred at the Olympic Games in 1972. As a result of the incident, 11 members of the Israeli team were killed.
The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26th to August 11th.
