According to the survey results, 64 percent of respondents say that the policies of Olaf Scholz’s government are likely to increase social divisions. Representatives of the conservative right mostly blame the federal government for widening divisions (82 percent), while among the centre-left 56 percent of those polled share this opinion.

Gitta Connemann, the Chairperson of the MIT (Association of the Small and Medium-Sized Businesses of the CDU and CSU), said most citizens felt their views were being ignored and the ruling coalition’s policies were putting social cohesion to the test.
