Orsha Tool Factory launching unique import-substituting project

Taps made of high-speed steel and hard alloy with a wear-resistant coating will be produced at Orsha Tool Factory, sb.by reports with reference to the Tractor.bel edition of Minsk Tractor Plant

Leonid Moizhik, the Director of Orsha Tool Factory, explained, “This is a unique tool, and no analogues are produced in Belarus. Only several foreign manufacturers do the same. Our plant has purchased a complex of high-tech equipment from China to make new taps. It consists of 12 numerical control machine tools and nine pieces of auxiliary equipment.”

The main equipment has manipulator-hands, and such automation tools make it possible to ensure multi-line maintenance. In particular, one person will be able to simultaneously operate 3-4 tools.

“Accuracy, quality and price will be our main advantages,” Mr. Moizhik stated.

In addition to manufacturing tools from high-speed steel and hard alloy, taps of standard nomenclature will be produced as well using a new technology.

The Orsha factory employees are now unpacking and installing the equipment. Representatives of the supplier company will arrive at the enterprise soon to launch the line, train personnel and produce an experimental batch of taps. Commissioning is planned within two months.
