Orenburg Region Governor thanked Belarus for help: it’s vivid example of solidarity and friendship
In a message addressed to Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, Orenburg Region Governor Denis Pasler expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the Belarusian side to the affected Russian region
“On behalf of the Government of the Orenburg Region, I am extending my sincere gratitude to you and the Government of the Republic of Belarus for the humanitarian support provided in connection with the flood in the territory of Orenburg Region,” the message reads.
Earlier, Belarus provided humanitarian assistance to the Orenburg and Kurgan regions of the Russian Federation, which were affected by the spring floods. Resolution No. 360 of the Council of Ministers as of May 22nd specified the details.
In particular, the Emergencies Ministry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the State Committee for Property, Belneftekhim and other public administration bodies were instructed to collect and send material assistance to Russia’s flood-affected regions. The list of humanitarian aid for the Orenburg Region included more than 60 items, including veterinary medicines, bed linen, blankets, towels, underwear, household appliances, clothes, boots, and more. The Emergencies Ministry organised the delivery of humanitarian cargo to the region.
"The readiness of the Government of the Republic of Belarus to provide assistance in difficult times is a vivid example of international solidarity and friendship between our countries," the message adds.
In conclusion, the Orenburg Region Governor emphasised, “We highly appreciate your support and hope for further strengthening of friendly and partnership relations between the Orenburg Region and the Republic of Belarus.”
