Opinion: Zelenskyy not going to lose hold of power, it’s matter of life and death for him

It is obvious that a serious conflict has emerged between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, and its reason is most likely due to the fact that, while losing popularity among his citizens, the Ukrainian leader is trying to oust his rival – as noted by Ivan Eismont, the Chairman of the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company, in his talk with Alfa Radio

“We do not know the real level of support for either, since everything they are doing is fake and fiction. Meanwhile, there is a suspicion that Zaluzhny is much more popular than Zelenskyy, despite conducting military operations not quite successfully. This is my personal belief. Apparently, hundreds of thousands of people died, not to mention the fact that not only Ukraine is fighting against Russia: more than 50 countries help it by sending money, weapons, mercenaries, and consultants. I am convinced that the NATO armed forces are assisting Kiev to fight,” Mr. Eismont said.

The Belteleradiocompany Chairman stressed that it is not a war in Ukraine, but a special military operation, and as Putin said, ‘we have not started yet’, “After Israel began fighting Hamas, I hope everyone could see the difference between a special military operation and a war. If there was a war, then it would not be so much fun in Kiev now, as seen in numerous videos from nightclubs and restaurants.”

According to Mr. Eismont, the conflict between Ukraine’s President and Commander-in-Chief indicates that there is a struggle for power in the country, “Zelenskyy is not going to lose hold of power, it seems to me it is a matter of life and death for him. He is aware of this, and he knows the real level of his support. He knows what mistakes he has made, and he knows what crimes the Ukrainian authorities have committed towards the residents of Ukraine while he is in power.”

Mr. Eismont added that the confrontation between Zelenskyy and Zaluzhny has gone too far, and the recent visit of Victoria Nuland, the US Under Secretary of State, to Kiev was not accidental. “I think the purpose of her visit was to prevent a coup in Ukraine,” he said.
