Opinion: CIS states can jointly resist collective West
The collective West is waging a hybrid war in order to weaken the CIS region, and efforts need to be combined to confront it – as stated by political observer Aleksei Avdonin in his talk with the ONT TV channel
“2022 became the year of restoration of the integration associations that have been formally ‘lost’ over the past 30 years. First of all, it happened because of the disagreements that were present in Russia. Look at the force with which the fifth column worked there to weaken any integration association: the Union State, the CIS, the EAEU. Since 2017, various destructive Telegram channels and public sites have been actively working, posting such messages as: ‘Russia doesn't need it, other countries are freeloaders, they are not giving us anything’. We see that the Russian political establishment has got rid of these alien liberal ideas, mostly generated in the thought factories of the collective West, by now. Moscow is doing everything at an accelerated pace in order to work as much with integration associations as possible,” the expert commented.
In addition to protocol meetings of the heads of state, informal ones are also organised – making it possible ‘to discuss future models for the entire association’.
“Everyone understands that the collective West is fighting against Russia and each CIS member. We will be weak if act alone, but we will be able to resist if unite our efforts,” Mr. Avdonin stressed.
