Number of EAEU unemployed decreased by 13.8% over year
In late May 2024, unemployment in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) dropped by 13.8 percent compared to the same period a year earlier, sb.by report with reference to the EEC website
“In late May 2024, the number of unemployed registered in the employment services of the EAEU member states totalled 813,800 people – 13.8 percent down compared to the period in 2023,” the press service reported.
In H1 2024, the unemployment rate in the EAEU states stood at 3.2 percent of the labour force. According to the EAEU, it reached 15.5 percent in Armenia, 3.3 percent in Belarus, 4.7 percent in Kazakhstan, 4.9 percent in Kyrgyzstan (2022), and 2.8 percent in Russia.
