In a video message, Marina Vasilevskaya noted that it is difficult for her to convey the emotions she experiences, “It’s a feeling of pride that I got the opportunity to be the first among Belarusian women to work in space. It’s also a feeling of deep gratitude to the leaders of our states, respected Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, who entrusted me with taking part in the 21st visiting expedition to the ISS.”
Oleg Novitsky believes that close co-operation between thousands of Belarusian and Russian scientists, designers, and specialists who create the cutting-edge space technologies and equipment will open new horizons.
“This enabled us to reach the level of contacts and interaction at which our flight to the ISS became possible. We hope that the results of scientific experiments conducted during this flight will help further develop the joint activities of scientists and technical specialists from Belarus and Russia. Of course, they will help strengthen the technological sovereignty of our two fraternal countries,” underlined the cosmonaut.
According to State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, the nations of the two countries have been long waiting for the flight of the Belarusian-Russian crew, “Undoubtedly, it’s a big breakthrough for Union State integration.”
