Norway discovered new gas field and may soon start production
A new gas field has been discovered in the Norwegian Sea, Lenta.ru reports with reference to the local energy company Equinor
The reserves at Obelix Upflank are estimated at 2-11 Bcm of recoverable gas. The deposit can be put into operation quickly. Upflank is located next to the Irpa and Aasta Hansteen deposits and contains 12.6-69.2m barrels of oil equivalent.
Norway plans to increase oil production by 6.7 percent to 2.02m barrels per day in the coming year and, by 2025, the figure is set to rise to 4.3m barrels.
