Judo

The 2nd CIS Games started in Gomel with judo competitions. Judokas from nine countries started the fight for awards in the individual and team competitions on the Gomel Ice Palace’s mats. Athletes from Russia, Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia compete with Belarusians.

Greco-Roman wrestling

Soligorsk is also hosting the competitions of the 2nd CIS Games, with Greco-Roman wrestlers being the first to enter into a fight for medals. Athletes from 12 countries are performing on the mats.

Weightlifting

The first gold in weightlifting competitions in the category up to 45kg among women was won by Regina Shaidullina of Russia.

Weightlifting competitions of the 2nd CIS Games started in Grodno. More than 200 participants came to the competition, representing eleven countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Cuba.
