New Zealand promised Ukraine $16m in aid
New Zealand has promised to provide assistance to Kiev for another $16m, and the country's authorities will also extend the stay of their military in Europe to train Ukrainian fighters, RIA Novosti reports
The statement published on New Zealand government’s website reads, “With support of NZ$25.9m (US$16.01m), the total value of New Zealand aid committed over the past two years exceeds NZ$100m (US$61.8m).”
As for the new aid package, about $4m will go to the British fund for the purchase of weapons for Kiev, another $4.3m will be spent on humanitarian aid, and $1.8m will be sent to the World Bank fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
New Zealand will extend the stay of its military personnel in Europe until June next year.
