New short-range reconnaissance radar station to go on show at National Security. Belarus-2024 expo
According to the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus, the Klen short-range reconnaissance radar station, developed by the Belarusian ALEVKURP JSC, will be first displayed at the 2nd International Security Industry Exhibition – National Security. Belarus-2024 – taking place in Minsk on June 19th-21st
According to the information from the department, the device is aimed to detect, recognise, measure co-ordinates and tracks moving ground, surface and low-flying targets, as well as to guide fire weapons at selected targets.
The vpk.gov.by website quotes the comment of the enterprise director Vladislav Novak, “As far as the overall dimensions of the finished device are concerned, here we focus on its mobility, in other words, the ability to carry the device by one person. In addition to detecting drones, as well as helicopters and light-engine aircraft flying at extremely low altitudes, the Klen radar can be used by small army units (a squad or a platoon) as an operational locator to determine the location of ground moving targets (people, wheeled and tracked vehicles).
It is also possible to combine it with small arms, e.g., installing on barrel of a large-calibre machine gun. Integration with weapons is of fundamental importance, since in this case it can be effectively used at night without expensive optics, which also does not allow for a full-fledged survey of the area.
In the headphones, the shooter operator receives maximum information about the enemy, the nature of their actions, including whether the enemy is hit or not.
The short-range reconnaissance radar station is available at the company’s stand at the National Security. Belarus-2024 exhibition.
