New marathon world record set
A track and field athlete from Kenya, Kelvin Kiptum, completed the race of 42km 195m in 2 hours and 35 seconds, thus breaking the marathon world record, TASS reports

Athlete Kelvin Kiptum participated in the 42km 195m running competition in Chicago and crossed the line in 2 hours and 35 seconds. The previous world record also belonged to a Kenyan track and field athlete, two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge, who set it in Berlin in 2022. Kipchoge then finished in 2 hours, 1 minute, 9 seconds.
