Neurologist on healthy lunch food

The lack of a full meal at lunchtime produces a great stress for the body, since eating food dry turns into a deterioration of well-being, decreased performance, and overweight. Actually, digestive problems are observed now in every third office worker aged 25-45, and Russian neurologist Sergei Dlin explained what lunch food to eat to stay healthy.

According to Sergei Dlin, the ideal time for lunch is from 12 to 14 o'clock in the afternoon, since eating later can lead to overeating and weight gain.

Lunch should make up about 40 percent of the daily diet, and its best formula is the following: 10 percent of fats, 50 percent of protein, and about 40 percent of fibre, greens, vegetables, and cereals.

"Red meat, lean fish, chicken, turkey, shrimp, squid, pumpkin or sunflower seeds are good for lunch,” the doctor added. “Good fats for lunch include olives, cheese, coconut products, pine and walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, almonds, and pistachios.”

As regards the optimal fibre for lunch, it can be represented by champignons, oyster mushrooms, honey mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, bell peppers, and onions.

“In terms of calories, breakfast and lunch should be about the same,” the specialist noted. “A small portion of sweets is not forbidden after lunch: it is best to give preference to fruits and berries.”
