Netflix’s Squid Game reality show to be released in late November
Netflix’s reality show based on Squid Game that will pit 456 people against each other for $4.56m, will debut on November 22nd, the company announced
Netflix calls this amount the largest in the history of the reality shows. 465 participants from all over the world will compete for the prize in the show.
The trailer shows the scenery that completely replicates the surroundings of the TV series. The audience is shown how the participants pass the tests: Red Light, Green Light, Sugar Honeycomb and Glass Bridge. The losers of the game are eliminated from the show, just like in the series. They are removed with a shot, but not with a real one.
It is also reported that the filming of the reality show was accompanied by a scandal. Eliminated participants complained of harsh conditions, particularly cold and lack of food. And some players later told the media that they were used as extras. According to the eliminated participants, popular bloggers and media personalities advanced to the next level.
Squid Game: The Challenge is a 10-episode series will premiere on November 22nd.
The Squid Game series was released in 2021 and became the most successful in the history of the streaming service. In late January 2022, the creators promised a second season of the series in 2024.
