NATO to deploy up to 5,000 soldiers in Finland on border with Russia

NATO will deploy an armoured brigade of four to five thousand soldiers in the Finnish city of Mikkeli near the border with Russia, RIA Novosti reports

It is reported that Swedish and Norwegian soldiers will join the brigade. Local media claim that the decision will be officially announced in the coming weeks.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow records an increase in Finland's military activity after its accession to NATO.
