National Bank: Belarus’ gold and foreign currency reserves at $8.858bn as of October 1st

According to preliminary data, Belarus’ international reserve assets amounted to $8.8583bn in equivalent as of October 1st, 2024, sb.by reports with reference to the National Bank’s website

It is noted that, in September 2024, gold and foreign currency reserves increased by $161.2m after an increase of $165.1m a month earlier.

The largest share in the structure of Belarus’ international reserve assets is held by assets in foreign currency and monetary gold. According to the National Bank, as of October 1st, 2024, the volume of foreign currency in reserves amounted to $2.8916bn, of monetary gold – $4.5674bn.

According to major guidelines of the country’s monetary policy, Belarus’ international reserve assets should total at least $6bn by late 2024.
