National Bank: Belarus’ gold and foreign currency reserves at $8.532bn as of August 1st
According to preliminary data, Belarus’ international reserve assets amounted to $8.532bn in equivalent as of August 1st, 2024, sb.by reports with reference to the National Bank’s website
It is noted that in July 2024, gold and foreign currency reserves increased by $173.5m (by 2 percent) after a decrease of $52.9m (by 0.63 percent) a month earlier.
The largest share in the structure of Belarus’ international reserve assets is held by assets in foreign currency and monetary gold. According to the National Bank, the volume of foreign currency in reserves as of August 1st, 2024, amounted to $2.942bn, a drop of $5.4m (by 0.19 percent) in July, and the volume of monetary gold made up $4.2133bn, having increased by $162.5m (by 4 percent).
Belarus’ international reserve assets should total at least $6bn by late 2024.
