Myasnikovich on effectiveness of institution of presidency: we have billions of US Dollars in export revenue
The stake made by the President of Belarus from the first years of his presidency on large-scale production and exports has paid off – as noted by Mikhail Myasnikovich, a delegate of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress, Head of the Belarus President Administration in 1995-2001, Prime Minister of Belarus in 2010-2014, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel
Speaking about the 30th anniversary of the institute of the presidency in Belarus and the development of the country over these three decades, Mr. Myasnikovich recalled, “I was a direct participant in all economic transformations. The question was whether we should preserve our large industrial enterprises or not. As a result, the Grodno meeting determined that large-scale agricultural production should be preserved as the basis of food security and food products should go on export.”
“And today we see that this is really a very important area, and we have billions of US Dollars in export revenue from the export of our food. The same is true for industrial production. It was determined that we are competitive only in the conditions of large enterprises,” the former PM added.
