MTZ exploring possibility of establishing JVs in China

Specialists of the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) are working on the possibility of creating joint ventures for the production of BELARUS tractors in the People’s Republic of China, sb.by reports with reference to the Tractor.bel corporate publication

According to Yulia Arabei, the Deputy Head of MTZ’s Department for Promotion and Sales of Goods to non-CIS Countries for Work in the Markets of Southeast Asia and the Middle East, a roadmap has been signed for the development of a 350HP tractor with electric drive on permanent magnets.

“In the future, it is planned to organise the production of these vehicles on the territory of the republic for subsequent sale in China,” she added. “Production capacity is 2,500 tractors per year.”

MTZ is ready to implement a similar project with China-Belarus High-Tech Aerospace Research and Development Centre. According to the expert, it is planned to create a production facility on the premises of one of the Chinese companies.

“Now, together with our partners, we are adapting the China 4 engine for BELARUS 3522 tractor, taking into account the requirements of the PRC standards. We expect to conduct operational tests and certification next year,” Yulia Arabei explained.

Another joint production facility may also be created in China for the assembly of BELARUS tracked tractors.
