MP: Poland has its own interest in Ukraine, and it will fight for it
In his talk with the STV TV channel, a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Oleg Gaidukevich, commented on the latest statements of the Polish authorities concerning relations between Kiev and Warsaw
In particular, the deputy stated, “It must be very insulting to the Ukrainian people. Look at the rhetoric that has been coming out of the mouths of Polish officials over the recent weeks. Look at how they responded to the Ukrainian elite. That reply can be translated as: ‘Close your mouth, you are completely dependent on us, Western Ukraine is already ours. Why are you playing with grain? How can you dare to make remarks? Who are you?’ Actually, we observe neglect and disrespect. Who are you [Poles] to treat the Ukrainian people in this manner? This is very revealing. Poland has its own interest in Ukraine, and it will fight for it.”
Mr. Gaidukevich believes that Poland initially helped Ukraine in the conflict for selfish purposes. “It does not give anything to anyone for nothing. There is never free help. You have to pay for everything. Look, Poland is now selling a lot of weapons to Ukraine. What will it take away later? There's nothing to take. Everything has already been taken away, and only the territory has left – but no one will annex the territory to Poland in our modern world,” he explained.
