Most popular and promising types of Belarusian tourism named

In his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel, the Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism, Oleg Andreichik, listed the most popular and promising types of Belarusian tourism

The republic has introduced a unified classification of types of tourism, including thirteen destinations. “In my opinion, historical and cultural tourism is among the most popular ones among organised groups and individual tourists. Last year alone, 7.5m guests bought tickets to our museums, castles, and various objects of historical and cultural value. Medical and wellness tourism is another no less interesting and important type: 260+ sanatoriums and wellness organisations welcomed more than 1 million Belarusians and foreigners in 2023. I would also name agro-ecotourism among the top three, which is actively developing in Belarus. This brand is already well known abroad: last year, 450 thousand Belarusians and foreigners holidayed in the countryside. At present, 1,321 agro-ecotourism entities provide services," Mr. Andreichik said.

Active tourism is among the promising areas. “Hundreds of thousands of people travel by bicycle and raft on rivers,” the official added. “I would also like to mention environmental, hunting, gastronomic, business, and educational tourism in this regard. Basically, all types have the potential to grow.”
