Morawiecki: Poland needs well-armed 300,000-strong army

Poland needs a well-armed 300,000-strong army – as noted by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in his keynote speech in the Sejm (lower house of Polish Parliament), TASS reports

According to the RAR news agency, the Polish politician said, “A 300,000-strong well-armed army, a powerful defence industry, [spending] 4 percent of GDP on the Polish army – this is the foundation of our security and our sovereignty.”

Morawiecki noted that Poland’s military spending currently amounts to approximately 4 percent of GDP.

In October 2023, Polish armed forces had approximately 187,000 troops.
