Mnangagwa announced Zimbabwe’s imminent accession to BRICS
Zimbabwe enjoys good relations with all BRICS members, and is also close to joining the association – as stated by the Zimbabwean leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa, TASS reports
According to The Herald, Emmerson Mnangagwa said that Zimbabwe will soon join the BRICS economic union. He expressed confidence that the republic's good relations with the BRICS member countries will increase its chances of becoming part of the new global financial order.
Emmerson Mnangagwa stressed that, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, he discussed the issue of Zimbabwe's joining BRICS with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and earlier with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
According to Emmerson Mnangagwa, there are good prospects for Zimbabwe's entry into BRICS, since none of the member countries of the association is against this move. He added that Zimbabwe maintains excellent relations with China and Brazil.
