Hosts showed the port's and the free trade zone’s capacities to President Lukashenko and other members of the Belarusian mission.

“The goal of our visit to the Sohar Port and Freezone is to pick the venue for our joint ventures along with the proposed hub for Belarusian-made industrial goods in the Sultanate of Oman to be developed down the road in order to promote those goods at third countries’ markets,” explained the minister.

As he further pointed out, the port’s location is excellent when it comes to logistics.

“It has been like that from the dawn of time, and it remains like that today. So, considering the port’s great location, we are interested in establishing our industrial hub there. The freezone venues come into play mostly as sites for potential joint ventures,” Mr. Yefimov said.

According to the industry minister, the range of products that can be made in Oman is quite broad.

“First, it’s their domestic demand. They need agricultural products, tractors, along with all kinds of modifications and accessories for them: trailers, detachable fixtures, road construction and municipal equipment. And, of course, products that can be re-directed to third countries also have great potential. Here, the list grows longer. It’s quarry machinery, cargo-carrying equipment, everything that has to do with logistics infrastructure. That is the list of products and technologies we can offer our Omani partners to be made on their territory,” he explained.
