Ming: SCO ready to create conditions for resolving Russia-Ukraine conflict
The Shanghai Co-operation Organisation members are ready to create favourable conditions for the settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine – as announced by SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, RIA Novosti reports
"After the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict, the SCO has been paying close attention to it, also supporting the relevant countries – so that they, while focusing on the general situation in the region, would continue to work to eliminate discrepancies, move towards each other in the direction of finding common interests, achieve peace, and resolve the conflict by peaceful political and diplomatic means," Zhang Ming said.
The SCO Secretary General added that the organisation members are also making their own efforts to overcome a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
As it is known, the countries adopted a declaration confirming their commitment to formation of a more ‘multipolar world order’ – following the SCO meeting in Samarkand in September 2022.
