At the beginning of the meeting, she conveyed greetings from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Aleksandr Lukashenko, “The entire of Azerbaijan was following your visit. The mark it left will remain in the memory of our people for a long time. We have very deep roots. Once we lived all together in one big country. The relations between the countries have been developing for centuries, and today it is encouraging that they are developing on the solid foundation that has already been formed.”

According to Ms. Gafarova, the Belarusian and Azerbaijani people are currently maintaining the level of development of relations, enabling us to say that we are fraternal nations.

“In this difficult time of double standards, when so many values are disappearing in front of our eyes, we must develop the right attitude towards these values among our youngsters. Laying a wreath on Victory Square in Minsk gave me the idea that we must definitely educate our youth in this direction. Yesterday I told the Belarusian students that they must remember this date [the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders], just as our Azerbaijani students are obliged to remember it.”
