“Our state existed in the Russian Empire and in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, although there were certain conflicts everywhere. RzechPospolita is the most problematic issue, but our state was also part of it. As regards Russia, we have always been together somehow, especially now that the borders have been drawn. As our President says, our land is enough for us, we now have to remove stones from fields. Actually, we have enough work to do, and we have something to strive for. Over the past thirty years, the Ignalina nuclear power plant has been closed in Lithuania, while Belarus has built its own station in Ostrovets. We aim to do everything to enlarge our population figures, while Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are simply dying out: their all normal citizens have moved to work in Europe. Again, while Poles are digging trenches and the Baltic State are laying barbed wire along the border, Belarus is building hospitals. Therefore, we have completely different goals, and a person is of primary importance for our country,” Mr. Chibisov stressed.
