Mezentsev: Union State budget for 2024 increased by 38%
One of the factors confirming the deepening integration of Belarus and Russia is the increase in the Union State budget for the next year – as noted by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev in his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel
Dmitry Mezentsev drew attention to the fact that the examples of the CIS, SCO, BRICS and other organisations prove that countries become more successful and competitive by joining their efforts. This is also more than relevant for the Union State.
“This year, for the first time in the entire history of the Union State Treaty, by decision of the presidents of Belarus and Russia, the Union State budget for 2024 increased by 38 percent,” noted Dmitry Mezentsev. “This is a very good sign, confirming that the countries’ interest in Union State interaction and expansion of formats is obvious. And for this delta that we received, we immediately received proposals from the parties that this money should be wisely spent on common goals. So it was, so it is and so it will be. By the way, the budget is open; anyone can see it.”
The State Secretary of the Union State also underlined that Belarus and Russia pay great attention to both economic liaisons, e.g., in the development of microelectronics, electronics, automotive industry, as well as humanitarian, cultural co-operation and ideology.
