Mezentsev on whether strengthening of Belarusian-Russian relations threatens NATO

The strengthening of relations between Belarus and Russia is an example of good neighbourliness, consideration of each other's interests, and ensuring regional security – as noted by the State Secretary of the Union State, Dmitry Mezentsev, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel

Mr. Mezentsev said, “The strengthening of relations between the two states united by the Union Treaty is an example of good neighbourliness, consideration of each other's interests, and ensuring regional security to a much greater extent than our Western so-called partners think. Of course, our example and building our own plans are the foundation for the optimism of millions of Russians and Belarusians.”

Speaking of whether the strengthening of Belarusian-Russian relations threatens the NATO alliance, the State Secretary of the Union State stressed, “No, and it cannot be so. It is impossible to threaten someone with friendship. It is possible to attract and be an example.”
