Mezentsev: contribution of senators and deputies to Union State development becoming increasingly significant
The substantive agenda of the meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State in Mogilev confirmed that senators and deputies of the two countries are doing everything possible to make their meaningful contribution to the development of the Union State more significant – as noted by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev
“Talking about the humanitarian component, ensuring equal rights of citizens of Belarus and Russia in receiving medical care, discussing the model of the law on cross-border cooperation: all this is a huge contribution to meaningful work on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Union State Treaty, which confirms that the general pattern of Belarus-Russia interaction is fundamentally different. The focus on results for the sake of millions of people is exemplary in its own way. We also see that the practice of relations in working with the commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly and the Standing Commission with the Parliamentary Assembly secretariat has become different: significant, important and extremely meaningful,” Dmitry Mezentsev underlined.
He also added that a high-level group of the Union State Council of Ministers will take place in Minsk in just a few days, “We have 23 substantive issues of bilateral co-operation in the Union State format. Some of them echo today’s agenda, proving that we are concerned about the alignment of the practice, which should be a reliable guarantee for people to ensure their health and social protection!”
