Mexican Ambassador: my goal is to intensify relations between our countries
Mexico is interested in developing trade relations with Belarus and in an open dialogue between the countries – as stated by Ambassador of Mexico to Russia and Belarus concurrently Eduardo Villegas Mejias
The diplomat stated with regret that relations between Mexico and Belarus did not develop dynamically in the past, “However, my goal as Ambassador of Mexico is to make the relationship between our countries more intense and much healthier. I’m keen to develop commercial relations between our countries.”
Eduardo Villegas Mejias said that he visited the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) and expressed confidence that countries can have a lot of common points in the field of agricultural development. As far as the development of cultural ties is concerned, the diplomat also counts on efficient collaboration, “Everyone knows the famous artist Frida Kahlo. But I would like to introduce Belarus to wider aspects of Mexican culture: literature and cinema. The economic and cultural sector is just an example, but there are a huge number of other areas for our co-operation. I know very well that Belarus occupies a very good position in IT. We believe in dialogue, we believe that countries should be open to each other,” the head of the diplomatic mission underlined.
