Metropolitan Veniamin during Our Children campaign in Minsk: God will definitely reward for mercy
The marathon of good deeds initiated by the Head of State has been taking place in our country for more than twenty-five years. Warm communication and long-awaited gifts are what children in every city, town and agricultural settlement need. As is traditional, youngsters in boarding homes, correctional and developmental training and rehabilitation centres and hospitals are also congratulated. Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, and Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich have visited today children’s home No. 1 in Minsk, where children with difficult diagnoses are accommodated.
The facility provides the best conditions for living, care, treatment and rehabilitation. There are 50 children here, 21 of whom are disabled. These need special help and support. Medical workers, teachers and psychologists try to do everything possible so that the kids do not feel deprived.
Metropolitan Veniamin performed a prayer service and presented the institution with a panel depicting an angel. The Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus underlined that during the New Year and Christmas holidays it is important to do good deeds, “Each of us needs to show mercy. The God will definitely reward you for this. Jesus Christ once taught us how to do good for others. He was called a deceiver, but he healed the sick and comforted them. I would like to wish doctors, nurses and all the staff of the children’s home that divine grace will assist in your devotion, and that the children will receive the care and support they need.”
The teachers and children performed a festive performance especially for the guests: snowmen, foxes, dragons and princesses are the characters embodied today by the kinds.
Belarus’ Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich took part in the round dance and handed over sweet gifts to the kids, almost like a real Father Frost, “I’d like to express special gratitude to the staff who work with the kids. This is true labour and a real calling. In 2023, 41 children left the orphanage to be accepted by families. Almost 500 children are receiving assistance in Minsk. This is a worthy result. May it multiply in the new year.”
