Messi refused $1.4bn contract with Saudi Arabian club

Last summer, Messi moved from French PSG to Inter Miami (MLS) as a free agent.

"We did have contact with Lionel Messi when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired. We offered him 1.4 billion Euros, but the footballer refused and said that his family wanted to go to America. It is amazing that the player could reject that offer for the sake of his family. We respect this decision because family comes first," Anmar Al-Haili said.
