Melitopol children visiting Belarusian historical sites
32 students and schoolchildren from Melitopol (Zaporozhye) arrived in Belarus on June 10th and will stay in the country until June 13th – visiting local museums, memorable places and attractions
Young people have already visited Minsk’s secondary school No. 101, where an agreement on co-operation between educational institutions of the two states took place.
“It is very nice to be back at this school, since wonderful teachers work here. It is great that children from Melitopol have managed to come here. Events of the kind should continue to be organised in order to strengthen co-operation in the cultural and educational spheres," Sergei Afonin, the Adviser to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belarus, said.
Eighth grader Bogdan Romanov, from Melitopol, happily shared his pleasant emotions, “It took us two days to come to Belarus, and it’s wonderful that we were very warmly welcomed in Minsk. This is our first time here. Such events make it possible to get to know and communicate with our peers from Belarus. Minsk is a very beautiful city, we all like it very much.”
The Russian guests will visit the Minsk – Hero City Stele, the Great Patriotic War History Museum, the Khatyn Memorial Complex, and the National Library. They will also meet with representatives of Belarusian public associations and institutions.
